In short
- Free channels (your game page, own socials, Discord, updates) cost time, not money, and should come first.
- Roblox ads are an auction: you set a budget and Roblox bids for you. Roblox does not publish a fixed price, so cost per play only shows once a campaign runs.
- Creator sponsorships are flat fees per video; Roblox creators on one marketplace list from $50 for two UGC videos to $450 for one TikTok video.
- A clipping campaign on MetaClip costs the budget plus fees. $500 at $2 per 1,000 views buys up to 250,000 verified views for $563.75, or $2.26 per 1,000 views all-in.
- You can start small: MetaClip has no minimum campaign budget.
What can you do for free?
Before spending, get the free channels right, because every paid channel sends people to them:
- Your game page: a clear icon, gameplay thumbnails and a description that says what the game is in one line.
- Your own short-form account: devlogs, update teasers and player moments.
- Community: a Discord server and a Roblox group for announcements and feedback.
- Updates and events: reasons for players to return and for creators to post.
The full channel guide covers each one.
How much do Roblox ads cost?
Roblox Ads Manager is an auction. You choose an objective, set a daily or lifetime budget, and either let Roblox bid automatically or set a maximum bid. Roblox’s documentation explains the bidding but does not publish a price floor or a typical cost per play, so the real cost only shows once a campaign runs. Start with a small budget, watch cost per play in Ads Manager, and scale what works.

How much do creator sponsorships cost?
A sponsored video is a flat fee agreed up front, so you pay the same whether it gets 5,000 views or 500,000. Roblox creator listings on Collabstr, a creator marketplace, showed prices from $50 for two UGC videos to $450 for a single TikTok video (see one listing and another) when we checked in October 2026. Bigger creators quote privately and charge more. Ask for views on past sponsored videos, not follower counts, before you agree a fee.
How much does a clipping campaign cost?
On MetaClip you choose the creator budget and the rate per 1,000 views. The budget goes to creators; MetaClip adds a 10% platform fee on budgets up to $1,321 (5% above that) and 2.5% payment processing. Budget only moves when approved clips earn verified views, and unspent budget stays yours.
That makes the cost per view predictable: divide the total charged by the views the budget buys.
What do different budgets buy?
| Creator budget | Rate per 1,000 | Verified views | Total charged | All-in per 1,000 views |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| $100 | $2 | Up to 50,000 | $112.74 | $2.25 |
| $500 | $2 | Up to 250,000 | $563.75 | $2.26 |
| $1,000 | $2.50 | Up to 400,000 | $1,127.50 | $2.82 |
| $2,500 | $3 | Up to 833,333 | $2,690.63 | $3.23 |
| $5,000 | $3 | Up to 1,666,666 | $5,381.25 | $3.23 |

Where should a small studio start?
- Fix the game page and first minute of play.
- Post your own clips for a couple of weeks to learn which moments land.
- Run a small clipping campaign, for example $500, and brief creators on the moments that worked.
- Scale the channel with the lowest cost per retained player.
